What does "hypoallergenic" mean?
In the world of skincare and cosmetics, one of the most frequently used words to describe - and promote - products is " hypoallergenic". By definition, it means "having little likelihood of causing an allergic response". However, it is neither a legal or scientific term according to Health Canada and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Generally, it is an indication that the array of ingredients within a product has a minimum potential for causing allergy.
A claim of "hypoallergenicity" is no guarantee of safety, as allergic responses can occur with virtually any ingredient. Our ingredients have been scrutinized and purified to minimize the possibility of reaction. Also, fragrances can be highly reactive to the skin. And so, we are proud to be fragrance-free - for your safety and for the safety of those around you.
At Lara Beauty we are not only hypoallergenic, we are Allergy Aware. We list and explain each of our ingredients so you can check for your allergies and understand why our products work so well.
